Overview
Requisitions let staff request items while procurement decides how to source and order them. This workflow is available for Stockroom and Procure to Produce business units.
Submit a requisition
- Select the business unit and open Requisitions.
- Create a New requisition.
- Enter a request name and need-by date where useful.
- Add existing purchasing items or use Request a new item. Enter quantities and any estimated cost, SKU, pack, size, or notes needed to explain the request.
- Review the request and submit it for procurement.
Inventory access allows the request workflow. Processing the requisition requires Procurement access on that business unit.
Process a request
- Open the requisition and review each requested item.
- Match it to a purchasing item, create an item under a supplier, or request supplier quotes when sourcing is needed.
- Approve the quantity to move the item into the purchasing workflow, or reject the item with an explanation.
- Review the resulting supplier cart and create the PO through the normal purchase-order flow.
Understand the status
With procurement means the request has been submitted. Item statuses include Needs review, Sourcing, Ready to order, Ordered, Fulfilled, and Rejected. Approval is not the same as an order sent or stock received.
Change a request
The requester or Procurement can edit eligible submitted requests before procurement starts work. Once work has started, quantity or item changes may be restricted. Procurement can adjust an approved quantity where the workflow offers it; review any existing cart or order link before changing it.

Check the business-unit type and your role. Retail, Food Service, Manufacturer, and Dropship units do not use this requisition experience.
