Overview
Manufacturer units use assemblies and purchased components. This is the LineNow-managed make-to-order workflow; Procure to Produce is the separate workflow for ERP-owned inventory and BOMs.
Build the assembly
- Select the Manufacturer unit and open Assemblies.
- Add the assembly using an available creation or import method.
- Select each purchasing component and enter the amount needed for the output.
- Review pack conversions, yields, costs, and selling information.
- Connect the sold product to its sales-channel record where relevant.
Plan components
Use component inventory and the assembly-capacity view to see what can be made and which component is limiting production. Review incoming components and arrival dates before assuming the assembly is ready.
Connect purchasing to sales demand
Open Sales Orders and review the supported order or work-order creation flow. Check procurable components, supplier assignments, existing PO/WO coverage, procurement quantities, and item notes before confirming. Sales quantity and purchasing-pack quantity are not always equal.
Record production
When your team actually makes an in-house assembly, use the production action and enter the output quantity. It increases output stock and consumes the component quantities in the assembly. Creating a purchasing or work-order record is not a substitute for confirming the physical production.
Maintain the assembly
Keep components and approved substitutes current as sourcing changes. Review yields and item mappings before using capacity or margins for decisions. A similar component name does not establish that it can replace another component in production.
If your ERP owns these operations
Use Procure to Produce instead. In that unit, LineNow handles purchasing while your ERP keeps BOM, stock, receiving, and cost authority.
