Overview
Some incoming work should not be received into stock, such as an old order already included in your physical inventory. Archiving an order's receiving work and ignoring a particular delivery have different effects.
Archive an order from incoming inventory
- Open the incoming-inventory order and its archive action.
- Read the confirmation.
- Choose Archive Order when it should leave the active incoming view.
- Use the archived view to review or restore that receiving work later.
This keeps the historical purchasing context while removing the order from the main incoming workflow. It does not record a physical receipt.
Ignore a specific delivery
The Ignore Delivery confirmation describes a stronger action: it removes that incoming item without recording inventory changes. Read the named item and order carefully before confirming. The dialog notes that a manual inventory adjustment may be needed if you later need to correct the stock effect.
Choose the action based on what happened
If the goods actually arrived and have not been counted or received, use receiving. If the stock is already accounted for and the historical order should leave the active list, review the archive option. Use Ignore Delivery only when removing that incoming delivery is the intended result.
Before changing the incoming work
Check existing receipts, the physical count, pack quantities, and Stock Activity. Do not receive an old order again just to clear the incoming badge, and do not ignore a live outstanding delivery to hide a supplier delay.
