Overview
An in-house item is something your team makes from other ingredients or components. Recording production increases that item's stock and consumes the raw materials in its recipe.
Set up the in-house item
- Open the recipe or assembly workflow and choose the in-house-item creation action.
- Enter the item's name, pack, size, and output information.
- Add the raw ingredients or components and their quantities.
- Review conversions and yield so one unit of output uses the correct amount of each input.
- Save, then check where the in-house item is used.
Record actual production
- Open Record production for the item you have just made.
- Enter how many units or assemblies were actually produced.
- Review the stated effect: finished-item stock increases and each raw ingredient or component is deducted proportionally.
- Submit and review the stock changes.
Use the correct source for a count increase
Do not record production for stock you purchased, transferred in, or found through a count correction. Use the inventory adjustment or count form with From outside / one-off where offered. The raw-material source option is for stock you made from ingredients on hand.
Keep the recipe current
Update pack, size, ingredients, and yields when production changes. Review dependent recipes and substitutes so the in-house item still has a valid quantity relationship. A recipe that is incomplete or cyclic cannot provide reliable consumption.
If production changed the wrong stock
Check output quantity, pack units, ingredient quantities, and the production source. Review Stock Activity for both the finished item and inputs. Do not submit the production action again to repair an unexplained result.
