Overview
Receiving records what physically arrived. For LineNow-managed inventory, a receipt adds the received quantity to stock. A supplier's shipped or delivered status does not replace that quantity review.
Receive from the portal
- Select the destination business unit and open the incoming-inventory view.
- Open the relevant purchase order or receive action.
- Compare the delivered goods with the PO and source invoice.
- Enter the actual quantities in the packs or units shown.
- Review item matches, substitutions, pack changes, and other discrepancies.
- Resolve blocking issues and submit the receipt. Check the saved result.
Use a receiving checklist or phone link
Use Print Checklist where offered, or open the dedicated receiving link for the assigned task. Review the same delivery quantities and issue prompts on the mobile receiving screen before submitting. Upload invoice pages where that flow requests them.
Partial deliveries
Record only what arrived. Use the supported partial-receipt action when some items or quantities remain outstanding. Check the remaining incoming quantity and avoid receiving the same delivery twice. Do not mark every ordered unit as received just to finish the screen.
Resolve discrepancies before receiving
A changed pack or unmatched item can make the stock effect ambiguous. Review and correct the item or order match first. Where blocked, the receiving review explains what must be resolved. Procurement may need to correct an order or mapping that receiving staff cannot edit.
When receiving belongs in another system
Procure to Produce units are received in the ERP. If an older order's inventory has already been accounted for, use the appropriate archived or exclusion workflow rather than receiving it again.
Verify the stock effect
Review receiving history and Current Inventory after saving. Check any connected-POS sync separately; a receipt saved in LineNow and an update completed in another system are distinct steps.
