Overview
A physical count records the quantity present at a particular time. It is different from receiving a delivery or recording stock used during a period.
Choose the count method
- Select the business unit and filter the inventory list to the items you want to count.
- Open Count.
- Choose Count in LineNow, Print Count Sheet, or CSV Count.
- Review the item scope and the date and time used for the count.
Enter the physical quantities
Read the pack-versus-unit controls before typing numbers. Enter zero deliberately when there is no stock. A blank or skipped item is not a confirmed zero. For the phone counting flow, review each item and move to the final review before submitting.
Use a printed sheet or CSV
Use the generated sheet or template for the selected scope. For CSV counts, keep the identifiers and expected column headings, upload the completed file, review the matched rows, and choose Apply Counts. Do not assume that uploading the file alone applies the count.
Review transfers and other movements
Read any open-transfer warning before submitting. Make sure your count describes what was physically present at the count time. Receiving, shipping, or counting the same goods at different points in the process can otherwise create a misleading balance.
In-house items
If an in-house item's count increased because you made it from raw materials, use the production or raw-material source option when offered. If it was purchased, transferred in, or found through a count correction, use the outside or one-off option. These choices affect whether ingredients or components are consumed.
After submission
Check the saved count confirmation, the count timestamp, and Stock Activity. Saved browser progress in the phone workflow helps resume entry, but the final submission is still required. Procure to Produce counts are maintained in the ERP rather than this local count flow.
