Overview
Forecast & Reorder helps you look ahead at projected shortages and build supplier carts from recommendations. It is an optional paid feature and does not apply to Stockroom's simple replenishment workflow.
Review the forecast
- Open Forecast & Reorder inside Inventory Planning.
- Choose the planning horizon, from 7 to 90 days.
- Review projected shortages, the current stock position, estimated restock cost, and estimated revenue at risk where shown.
- Check incoming purchases and transfers, including their expected arrival dates.
- Open item details to review usage and replenishment settings before accepting a recommendation.
Build carts from recommendations
- Select the recommendations you want to purchase.
- Open Add reorder recommendations to carts.
- Resolve items that need a purchasing option.
- Review each supplier group, quantity, and whether its existing cart quantities will be replaced or combined as offered.
- Apply the selections, then review the supplier carts and create POs separately.
Understand the estimates
Revenue at risk estimates sales exposure during projected uncovered days. It is not a profit forecast or a guarantee that those sales will be lost. Forecasts work best when the inventory, usage, and replenishment data are reliable, especially for items that sell or are used regularly.
If a recommendation seems unusual
Check packs, unit conversions, linked sales or recipes, usage overrides, order frequency, lead time, target stock, and safety factors. Review arrival dates before assuming incoming stock will cover a shortage.
If you cannot open the feature
Check subscription access, your Procurement role, and the selected business-unit type. Use Current Inventory and the unit's available replenishment controls while resolving access.
