Overview
LineNow's current Toast integration uses customer-managed Standard API access. It reads menus, orders, and restaurant details; it does not change Toast inventory, costs, or menus.
Before you start
Toast requires the appropriate Standard API access, Manage Integrations permission, and Restaurant Management Suite subscription for the locations involved. Review Toast's access requirements before setup.
Connect Toast
- Enable Standard API access and create the credentials described in Toast's setup documentation.
- Include the restaurant, menu, and order read scopes requested by LineNow's Connect Toast form.
- Open Home and choose Connect Toast.
- Enter the API access URL, Client ID, and Client secret.
- Add the restaurant GUIDs and map the restaurants to the appropriate LineNow Food Service units where relevant.
- Save and review the connected restaurant mappings.
Subscribe to updates
In Manage Toast, use the callback URL provided by LineNow. Create separate Orders and Menus subscriptions in Toast, then save their separate signing secrets in LineNow. Each Toast subscription uses one event category. See Toast's webhook instructions.
Review menu and recipe mapping
Connect the API-linked menu items to the recipes and purchasing ingredients that represent them. Keep manual or CSV Toast recipes separate from API-linked recipes rather than importing the same menu information twice.
If updates are missing
Check restaurant GUIDs, business-unit mapping, credential scopes, webhook category, callback URL, and saved signing secrets. The restaurant must be included in the credentials behind the subscription. Read-only Toast access does not provide a write-back path for inventory or costs.
