Overview
Square supports the connected sales and product workflows available in your buyer account. Finish the location and item or recipe mappings after authorization.
Connect Square
- Open Home and choose Square.
- Review any billing confirmation for an extra POS connection.
- Sign in to the intended Square merchant account and review the authorization.
- Return to Home and check the connected indicator.
Set up the working catalog
- Select the intended business unit.
- Import suppliers where the connected workflow supports them.
- Use Add Items to import or link the Square products for the correct location.
- Review default-supplier assignments, SKUs, purchasing packs, and variant mappings.
- For food-service recipes, use the recipe-to-POS connection action to select the correct Square location and sold product.
Review inventory and cost settings
Open Business Units and review the supported POS-sync controls. Decide where inventory or cost information should flow before enabling the setting. Importing a product is not the same as setting the authoritative stock balance.
Verify the result
Check a mapped product, its sales activity, and the relevant inventory view. Compare pack purchases with individual sales so the conversion is correct. Review refund activity as well as sales when investigating net usage.
If data is missing
Check merchant account, location, variant mapping, business unit, and pending sync. Reauthorization can restore an expired connection, but it does not repair an incorrect product mapping.
Before disconnecting
Read the disconnect dialog and any paid-connection billing notice. Confirm which products, sales, and inventory workflows depend on Square before changing the connection.
