Overview
Dropship units connect customer sales with the supplier that fulfills them. Set up one unit per dropshipping supplier and review product routing before enabling automation.
Prepare the routing
- Create the supplier-specific Dropship business unit.
- Connect the sales channel and map its products to the correct purchasing items.
- Review supplier assignment, pack conversion, recipient, and customer delivery information.
- Inspect the manual purchasing flow from a representative sales order before relying on automated routing.
Enable auto-forwarding
Review the unit's sales-order auto-forward setting in Business Units. When enabled, LineNow records a cutoff time and shows which orders are eligible after that cutoff. Review the created purchasing orders and their activity; do not assume enabling the setting processes the entire historical sales backlog.
Older or otherwise ineligible sales orders may still need the manual PO-creation action. Check existing PO/WO coverage before creating additional purchasing work.
Fulfill sales orders when shipped
The separate Fulfill sales orders when shipped control governs the supported fulfillment update from supplier shipping. Review the connected channel, mappings, and shipment information before enabling it.
Automatic PO creation and shipment-based sales fulfillment are different settings. Turning on one does not establish that the other has been configured.
Review an unexpected result
Check the supplier-specific unit, channel SKU or variant mapping, order date and cutoff, purchasing quantities, existing linked POs, and actual shipment details. Read the order activity and reported sync issue before reprocessing a sale.
Change the workflow deliberately
Review new and unfinished sales when changing automation. Turning a setting off does not by itself explain or reverse purchasing work already created. Use the existing order's appropriate review or cancellation workflow when that work needs to change.
