Overview
Stockroom is for supplies you purchase and use internally. It supports purchasing, counts, issuance, returns, replenishment rules, and transfers. It does not use POS sales, recipes, production, or demand forecasting.
Set up the stockroom
- Add a business unit and choose Stockroom.
- Add its suppliers and the supply items you purchase. Enter the pack sizes your team orders and counts.
- Give stockroom staff Inventory access and give purchasing staff Procurement access.
- Count the supplies you already have so the on-hand quantity has a reliable starting point.
- Set the low-stock and target-stock rules for the supplies you need to replenish regularly.
The daily workflow
- Check Current Inventory and review low-stock supplies.
- Review committed quantities where shown, so stock already allocated to requests is not mistaken for freely available stock.
- Add the required quantities to supplier carts and create POs.
- Receive actual deliveries into the stockroom.
- Record supplies issued for use, and record returns separately when unused supplies come back.
- Use incoming and outgoing transfers when stock moves between business units.
Counts and usage are different
A physical count says how much is present at the count time. An issue or usage entry records stock leaving for a purpose. A return records stock coming back. Choose the action that describes what happened instead of changing the count to represent every transaction.
If the quantity looks wrong
Check pack-versus-unit entry, incoming receipts, issuance and returns, and open transfers before submitting another count. Review Stock Activity to understand how the balance changed.
