Overview
Buyer access has two parts: the role a teammate has on a business unit, and the supplier relationships they can work with. Give each person the access needed for their work.
Understand the roles
- Owner: account-wide authority, with Procurement access on active business units.
- Procurement: purchasing access on the assigned unit. Procurement includes Inventory.
- Inventory: inventory work on the assigned unit, without the full purchasing permissions.
Supplier access provides an additional relationship scope. Access to a different business unit does not automatically unlock procurement actions in the unit currently selected.
Invite a teammate
- Open Home and the team-management section.
- Enter the teammate's name and email in the invitation form.
- Choose the business units and permissions they should have.
- Send the invitation and have them complete sign-up or sign in using that address.
- Check that the invitation is accepted and review their access.
Edit access
- Open the teammate's Edit roles action.
- Choose the highest role they need for each unit: Procurement already includes Inventory.
- Review supplier access for the assigned units.
- Save the changes and ask the teammate to reopen the affected page.
Why a permission cannot be changed
Only an Owner can grant Owner access. The account must retain at least one Owner. You cannot grant access above or outside your own authority. A teammate who maintains a supplier relationship may have locked access; transfer responsibility for that supplier before removing the related access. Dropship units use Procurement access.
If a tab is hidden or disabled
Check the selected business unit, its type, the teammate's role, and their supplier assignments. Features such as Requisitions, Recipes, or Transfers also depend on the business-unit workflow.
